Sometimes you need to know when to raise the white flag

Posted by Andi on September 10, 2008

It’s been over a year since I started it, and I’m just not feeling it.

I think it’s time to frog Lys.

I just don’t like the pattern anymore. I no longer see myself wearing it. I don’t see the point in finishing it. I look at the rest of that sleeve, and it hurts to think I have to make another one. When I look at the picture and see the button band, all I can do is sigh in resignation. I don’t want to do that.

So, I’m going to frog it. It will be a long, painful, tedious experience. But it needs to be done.

It cost me $100 to buy the yarn for that cardigan. I will rewind it and use it all for something else. I think the Berroco Hip Hop will make a great hat. As for the rest, I have no idea.

And I thought for sure you would have frogged Poinsetta before Lys.

All the pieces for Poinsettia are done, I just need to sew that up. Lys still had a lot of work to go, including buying buttons. I looked on Ravelry last night for some patterns I can use for the yarn I have left. I found a couple of scarves and a hat. Someone used the main yarn in Lys to make a Branching Out and it looked really nice.
